Our engagement session started out pretty easy, by doing a sitting shot. I like to get our couples comfortable in front of the camera, so we usually start by doing something simple. Furthermore, this could be a sitting shot, or even a walking shot. Most couples take about 10-15 minutes to warm up and look less tense. We also like to start with wide angle lenses so we can communicate better, and then after a few minutes, we can switch to our more artistic and desirable lenses. Moreover, we decided to walk around the venue in search of good light. As a result, we found some great spots around the man-made lake, bridge, and even out by the field. With this in mind, we were ready and could not wait to capture Lauren and Zach’s wedding day.
Lauren had two different outfits which is always ideal to get a good variety of shots. She decided to start with a casual outfit which entailed a pair of jeans and a pewter color top which provided a nice contrast. The second outfit was a very elegant black dress which was a great choice. Furthermore, this made their photos really pop. At the same time, Zach wardrobe was a bit more relaxed with some jeans and also a pewter sweater. Both outfits set the foundation to have some beautiful images.
Lauren and Zach decided to have their engagement session at their wedding venue Balmorhea towards the end of summer 2021. The day was hot but sunny, which gave us a great starting point. Balmorhea events is located in Magnolia near highway 249 and it sits in a large area surrounded by trees and a man-made lake. The beautiful tall trees, open field, bridge and greenery allow for some great photos.
